Introducing the 2021 Bauer Vapor & Hyperlite Hockey Sticks

The 2021 Bauer Vapor sticks are available at Pure Hockey, and we have all the information you’ll need to make your purchase. Highlighting this year’s Vapor line is the brand-new Hyperlite stick, which is designed to be even lighter and better-balanced than other Vapor sticks.

Vapor is Bauer’s low-kick point family of sticks, designed for players who take quick-motion shots, mostly shoot close to the net, and prefer release speed over power. If you’re unsure which kick point fits your game best, or you’re looking for an accurate assessment, visit your local Pure Hockey store.

With the all-new Hyperlite, Bauer focused on optimizing the stick’s weight and balance point. The Senior model weighs in at 385 grams, 25 grams lighter than the 3X Pro. This lighter build improves the feel of the stick and increases the overall release speed.

Speaking of release, the Hyperlite is designed to have the quickest energy load and return to the puck out of all the Vapor sticks, with a 10% improvement on release speed over the FlyLite.

Bauer also focused on improving the durability of this year’s Vapor line. The Hyperlite uses Bauer’s well-established Monocomp one-piece construction, but enhancements to the carbon fiber layup in both the blade and the shaft make for a more durable stick. The blade is 20% tougher and the shaft is 5% tougher than in previous Vapor models, even with the reduced weight.

Designed to be the quickest Vapor ever, the Hyperlite stick offers an impressive combination of weight, speed, balance, and durability. Fans of traditional Vapor sticks will be excited to try this new model.

Bauer Vapor 3X Pro Hockey Stick (Senior)

Bauer Vapor 3X Pro Hockey Stick

The Bauer Vapor 3X Pro stick is designed to replace the 2X Pro from the 2019 Vapor line. With this option, Bauer aims to provide many of the elite features of the higher-end Vapor sticks at a slightly lower price point.

The Vapor 3X Pro weighs in at 410 grams for the Senior model, five grams lighter than the 2X Pro. Along with the reduced weight, the 3X Pro offers improved recoil speed for quicker shots. The puck release is 5% faster compared to the 2X Pro, and the stick is 10% tougher against impacts.

This blend of speed, weight, and durability makes the Vapor 3X Pro a worthy successor to the 2X Pro.

The Bauer Vapor 3X hockey stick replaces the 2X Team stick from 2019 (Bauer has officially removed the name ‘Team’ from their stick lines to make the naming more consistent.) Just like the Team stick, the Vapor 3X is a lightweight stick full of top-end features, providing an elite feel at a performance price.

The Vapor 3X is 12% tougher against impacts compared with the 2X Team stick, and releases the puck 5% faster. Weighing in at 430 grams, the Vapor 3X is the lightest stick at this price point.

Bauer Vapor X3.7 Hockey Stick (Senior)

Bauer Vapor X3.7 Hockey Stick

The Bauer Vapor X3.7 hockey stick replaces the Vapor X2.7 from 2019 but with some significant upgrades. With this model, Bauer is raising the bar for a lower-priced, performance-level stick. Consistent with the rest of the Vapor line, Bauer made dramatic improvements to the stick construction, with a lighter weight, quicker release, and 12% greater durability compared to the X2.7.

With the Vapor X3.7, Bauer upgraded from their QRT (Quick Release Taper) technology to XE Taper geometry, which decreases the weight of the stick while increasing release speed and stability. The Vapor X3.7 also features Bauer’s HP mold for a true one-piece feel, updated from the X2.7’s two-piece construction. These features allow you to load and release the puck faster, and gives the stick a more balanced feel.

Bauer Vapor X Hockey Stick (Senior)

Bauer Vapor X Hockey Stick

The opening price point in the 2021 Vapor line, the Bauer Vapor X hockey stick comes in one flex each for Senior, Intermediate, and Junior age divisions. There’s also a “new” flex available in the Senior (80 flex) and Intermediate (60 flex) sticks to accommodate players who are newer to hockey or need something for recreational use. When players are ready to move up to a higher price point, it’ll be easier to know which flex is best for them: it’s possible to go up to an 87 flex or down to a 77 flex for a Senior stick, and up to a 65 flex or down to a 55 flex for an Intermediate stick.

Bauer significantly decreased the weight across all flexes at this price point and Bauer significantly reduced the weight across all flexes at this price point and improved the release speed, so rec players learning to shoot the puck can gain more confidence. Since the stick is built from a Vapor mold, the corners are more rounded to provide a great feel, making this an excellent entry-level option for many players.
