True A6.0 Stick

One of the most exciting new pieces of gear to come into our warehouse in the past couple months is the True Hockey A6.0 Stick. Although the brand might be a bit unfamiliar to you, True has used their patented Axenic Technology to produce over 2 million hockey sticks for other manufacturers and over 1 billion (yeah, that’s right, billion) golf club shafts, so it is safe to say that they are pros with composite materials. These guys really know what they are doing, which becomes quite clear once you get the A6.0 in your hands for the first time.

On the outside, the True A6.0 is a beautiful stick. A slick black and grey design is paired perfectly with blue accents to show a bit of flash in a tasteful manner. When I finally got it into my hands the first thing I noticed was the incredible light weight and surprisingly solid construction.

As a hockey gear junkie there are few things more exciting than a Bauer skate release. Luckily, 2014 brings us two; the first is the newest edition of the Supreme line, the TotalOne MX3 skate. Bauer’s focus was to increase and improve players’ range of motion.  By increasing range of motion players are able to generate more power in their strides so that less energy is wasted. To create additional comfort and responsiveness, Bauer also worked to eliminate as much negative space in the boot of the MX3 skate as possible.

The Easton Synergy is back and it’s not coming quietly! Easton pulled out all the stops to revive the Synergy name with a stick that was worthy of the moniker.

Synergy HTX Hypertuned Blade

The latest iteration of the famed line will be the Synergy HTX. In this case HT stands for Hypertuned Technology which is an adaptation of what Easton has done for a long time with their NHL players. For each shaft flex the new Synergy HTX will have a matching blade stiffness, as illustrated in the image below.

2014 Stanley Cup Predictions

Just like any hockey fan, when we at Pure Hockey realize that March is winding down and April is right around the corner, there is only one thing on our mind. Not college basketball and March Madness. Playoff hockey. Another thing hockey fans like? Being right. So, once we have a general idea of how the playoff picture is going to look, ideas start brewing of how it could all shake out. That brings us here. All teams have under a dozen games to go. Of course we could probably wait another week or two, but what’s the fun in that? So here it is. If the season ended today, how would a March Madness-style, one-loss elimination tournament go?
