CCM Ribcor 40K Stick Features and Review

CCM Ribcor 40K Stick

Yep, you read that correctly. The Ribcor 40K is being released under the CCM brand for the 2014 season. Why did they make this change? Well, Reebok and CCM officials realized that even though they had a significant number of Pro, Major and Junior players using their sticks it was divided between the two brands so their usage stats appeared lower than their competitors. By consolidating their stick lines under the CCM brand their usage stats appear more in line with those of their competitors.

Confusing as it might be, I implore you to set that aside because this stick has some seriously exciting new features.

CCM Resistance Helmet

For the past few years, Bauer has been the market leader in high-end, highly advanced hockey helmets. The Re-Akt was released in 2012 and marked the first time a company designed a helmet to manage the variety of impacts that occur during the course of a hockey game. On June 27th, with the release of the CCM Resistance helmet, people in the market for these highly protective helmets will have a new option.

CCM spent the past several years researching hockey hits and impacts. By recreating and examining hits from NHL and other high-level games CCM was able to find out why certain types of hits caused injuries while others did not. These tests measured impact force, speed, direction and contact point to determine what areas needed the most protection.

UPDATE: The True A6.0 stick is now shipping at PureHockey.com.

True A6.0 Stick

Although the brand might be a bit unfamiliar to you, True has used their patented Axenic Technology to produce over 2 million hockey sticks for other manufacturers and over 1 billion (yeah, that’s right, billion) golf club shafts, so it is safe to say that they are pros with composite materials. These guys really know what they are doing, which becomes quite clear once you get the A6.0 in your hands for the first time.
